Total knee replacement survivorship by Design Philosophy: are we ignoring medial pivot design? Analysis based on the UK National Joint Registry.

The UK National Joint Registry(NJR) has not reported total knee replacement (TKR) survivorship based on design phi- losophy alone, unlike its international counterparts. We report outcomes of implant survivorship based on design phi- losophy using data from NJR's 2020 annual report. All TKR implants with an identifiable design philosophy from NJR data were included.

A Prospective Cohort Comparative Study of Rivaroxaban, Dabigatran, and Apixaban Oral Thromboprophylaxis in 2431 Hip and Knee Arthroplasty Patients: Primary Efficacy Outcomes and Safety Profile.

Background: Direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs) have promised superior efficacy to low molecular weight heparins in the prevention of venous thromboembolism (VTE) in total hip and knee arthroplasty. However, there are concerns about raised associated bleeding and wound problems with these agents. This study aims to evaluate and compare the efficacy and safety of the 3 DOAC drugs: rivaroxaban, dabigatran and apixaban.

Short-term outcome of surgical arthrodiastasis of the ankle with Ilizarov frame in a cohort of children and young people with juvenile idiopathic arthritis.

Objectives: Despite medical advances, life-changing articular damage may still occur in patients with JIA. We report a cohort with destructive arthropathy of the ankle treated by surgical arthrodiastasis.

Methods: Eight patients (nine ankles) received arthrodiastasis by means of an Ilizarov frame between 2009 and 2013.

Atraumatic, symptomatic ankle plica successfully treated by arthroscopic debridement: a case report.

Synovial plicae, both symptomatic and asymptomatic, are increasingly being diagnosed with the expansion of arthroscopic procedures in synovial joints. Ankle plicae, however, remain an uncommon diagnosis and have previously only been reported as symptomatic in the post-traumatic ankle. Here the authors present a case report of an atraumatic, symptomatic ankle plica successfully treated with arthroscopic debridement.
