Joint injury can lead to articular cartilage damage, excessive inflammation, and post-traumatic osteoarthritis (PTOA). Collagen is an essential component for cartilage function, yet current literature has limited understanding of how biochemical and biomechanical factors contribute to collagen loss in injured cartilage.
