Self-talk in sport is a valuable self-help tool for regulating one's emotions, thoughts, and actions. This study aimed to examine whether the use of in-the-moment, strategic self-talk enhances volleyball officials' efficacy beliefs about their refereeing decisions in match-play scenarios. The relationship between officials' general self-talk tendencies and commonly perceived refereeing efficacy in recent matches was also investigated.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFBackground: The study aimed to compare the time to overall length of stay (LOS) for patients who underwent point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) versus radiology department ultrasound (RDUS).
Methods: This was a prospective study on a convenience sample of patients who required pelvic ultrasound imaging as part of their emergency department (ED) assessment.
Results: We enrolled a total of 194 patients who were on average 32 years-old.
Cholesterol-fat feeding is associated with unusual alterations in the composition of plasma lipoproteins in alloxan-diabetic rabbits. In the present study plasma lipoprotein lipid and apoprotein composition was studied before and after 48 hr of fasting in cholesterol-fed diabetic and control rabbits in order to further characterize these alterations. Compared with control rabbits, the diabetic rabbits had similar plasma cholesterol levels, but 100-fold higher triglyceride levels prior to fasting.

Therefore, we studied the effect of moderate conditioning with treadmill exercise on developing coronary-artery disease in monkeys on an atherogenic diet. Physical training was demonstrated by slow heart rates.
