Article Synopsis
  • The study investigates the efficacy and safety of nadunolimab, an antibody targeting the IL-1 receptor, when combined with the chemotherapy regimen gemcitabine/nab-paclitaxel (GN) in patients with untreated locally advanced or metastatic pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC).
  • A total of 76 patients were enrolled, revealing that neutropenia was the most common severe adverse effect, and the median overall survival (OS) was 13.2 months, with a 1-year survival rate of 58%.
  • Results suggest that nadunolimab is both effective and safe, particularly showing better outcomes in patients with high baseline tumor IL1RAP expression, along with a correlation between reduced

Article Synopsis
  • Phytoplasmas are harmful bacteria affecting many plants and causing major agricultural losses, making early diagnosis essential for farmers.
  • A comprehensive symptom database called PhyDSDB was created by gathering data on 945 plant species linked to phytoplasma infections, enhancing early detection through symptom recognition.
  • The PhyDSDB provides users with a web-based interface featuring links to symptomatic images and detailed information, facilitating better diagnosis and management of phytoplasma diseases for farmers, researchers, and educators.

Phytoplasmas are intracellular pathogenic bacteria that infect a wide range of plant species, including agriculturally important crops and ornamental trees. However, our understanding of the relationship between symptom severity, disease progression, and phytoplasma concentration remains limited due to the inability to inoculate phytoplasmas mechanically into new plant hosts. The present study investigated phytoplasma titer dynamics and symptom development in periwinkle and tomato, both infected with the same potato purple top (PPT) phytoplasma strain using a small seedling grafting approach.

Lingonberries (Vaccinium vitis-idaea L.) are low-growing, evergreen shrubs of cooler, northern regions of North America and Europe. These plants produce berries that are unique in flavor, bear high economic significance, and play a vital role in maintaining the diversity of the northern ecosystems (Kowalska, 2021).
