Background: The Mustard and Senning operations for dextro-transposition of the great arteries (D-TGA) establish a biventricular physiology with a subaortic right ventricle (sRV). While prolonged QRS has been associated with worse prognosis in these patients, current echocardiographic tools fall short in adequately assessing the (mal)performance and function decline of the sRV during follow-up. The present study is the first to characterize Myocardial Work (MW) indices of the sRV in D-TGA patients after Mustard/Senning repair.

Background: The optimal radiofrequency application (RFa) parameters for safe and durable pulmonary vein isolation (PVI) are debated. High-power short-duration (HPSD) has been used as an alternative to conventional power delivery (CPD).

Objectives: This study sought to compare HPSD 70 W/9-10 s (HPSD-70) with CPD 25-40 W in patients undergoing PVI.

Barley (Hordeum vulgare) is widely used in the production of beer and distilled beverages, generating a nutrient-rich by-product known as brewer's spent grain (BSG). This study investigates the potential of brewer's spent grain flour (BSGF) as a functional ingredient to enhance the nutritional profile of bakery products, specifically chocolate cakes, while contributing to waste reduction in the food industry. The effects of partially substituting wheat flour with BSGF at 40% and 60% levels were assessed.

is a pestiferous tephritid fly species exhibiting extreme polyphagy. It develops optimally in hosts rich in sugar but low nitrogen content. We studied the geographical influence on the composition of 's larval and newly emerged adult gut microbiota in altitudinal (0-2,000 masl) and latitudinal (ca.

Aims: Heart failure (HF) leads to an imbalance between heart and kidney function, resulting in poor outcomes. However, the prognostic significance of the estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) trajectory in HF patients remains unclear. We analysed electronic health records (EHRs) of real-world HF patients, assessing eGFR trajectories and their impact on mortality.
