Objectives: Because the plasma campesterol/cholesterol ratio does not differ between groups that absorb different amounts of cholesterol, the authors investigated whether the plasma Phytosterols (PS) relate to the body's cholesterol synthesis rate measured as non-cholesterol sterol precursors (lathosterol).

Method: The authors studied 38 non-obese volunteers (58±12 years; Low-Density Lipoprotein Cholesterol ‒ LDL-C ≥ 130 mg/dL) randomly assigned to consume 400 mL/day of soy milk (Control phase) or soy milk + PS (1.6 g/day) for four weeks in a double-blind, cross-over study.

Objectives: to describe the attributions and limitations in internship nursing supervisors', faculty advisors' and managers' work in the process of carrying out Supervised Internship in nursing education.

Methods: a qualitative exploratory-descriptive research. Interviews were conducted between February and July 2018 with 26 participants: four managers, nine faculty advisors, six primary care nursing supervisors and seven hospital care nursing supervisors.

This study aimed to analyze the socio-environmental characteristics, executive and nutritional functions in children aged 6 to 7 years, from public schools in Alagoas, Brazil. A quantitative, cross-sectional and descriptive study was performed involving 64 children of the mentioned age group, from public schools located in Alagoas: Maceió, on the coast; Major Isidoro, in the hinterland and Palmeira dos Índios, in the country. Such analyzes were made through the application of neuropsychological tests and anthropometric assessment with children and food and socio-environmental surveys with their parents.

Objective: To assess the early childhood education teachers' knowledge about first aid before and after the participation in an educational action.

Method: Quantitative research with a quasi-experimental pre- and post-test design, carried out with 45 teachers from four early childhood education schools. For data collection, an instrument with questions regarding the characterization of the participants and knowledge about first aid was used.

Objectives: to understand nurses' and physicians' perceptions of the care of people with cancer admitted to an emergency department of a general hospital.
