Article Synopsis
  • - This study focuses on extracting Schott extracts using supercritical fluid extraction (SFE) with CO₂ at 300 bar and 40°C from mature fruits, resulting in a total fatty acid (FA) content of 795.8 mg/g.
  • - The fatty acid profile identified linoleic acid as the most abundant (386 mg/g), followed by oleic, linolenic, palmitic, and stearic acids.
  • - Comparative tests showed that SFE extracts and others had no significant antimicrobial activity, while only the methanolic extract demonstrated a 11-mm inhibition against specific bacteria.

Context: There are only a few nationwide studies on boys with central precocious puberty (CPP) and the last Italian study is a case series of 45 boys that dates back to 2000.

Objective: We aimed to evaluate the causes of CPP in boys diagnosed during the last 2 decades in Italy and the relative frequency of forms with associated central nervous system (CNS) abnormalities on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) compared to idiopathic ones.

Methods: We performed a national multicenter retrospective study collecting data from 193 otherwise normal healthy boys with a diagnosis of CPP.

Both the operational phase and embodied emissions that are introduced during the construction phase through the manufacture, sourcing, and installation of the building's materials and components are significant contributors to carbon emissions from the built environment. It is essential to change the current design and (re)construction processes in order to achieve the energy-saving targets for the EU building stock and move toward a society that is net carbon neutral. This change must be made from both a technical perspective as well as from a methodological perspective.
