Gastric cancer (GC) is the fifth most prevalent cancer worldwide and the third leading cause of global cancer mortality. With the advances of the omic studies, a heterogeneous GC landscape has been revealed, with significant molecular diversity. Given the multifaceted nature of GC, identification of different patient subsets with prognostic and/or predictive outcomes is a key aspect to allow tailoring of specific treatments.

Background: Limothrips cerealium (or "grain thrips") is an insect of the phylum Arthropoda, known as parasite of plants of the family Gramineae; human infestation is not frequently described in literature.

Materials And Methods: We report the case of a 59-year-old female farmer, come to observation because of intense itching and sensation of "walking insects" on her head, with no objective cutaneous signs except lesions due to scratching. After repeated visits, in which negative results of clinical and laboratory tests suggested the diagnosis of "delusory syndrome" (Ekbom's syndrome), we finally isolated on her head some insects, identified by stereomicroscopy as L.

Background: Leptospirosis is a worldwide zoonotic infection with a high in tropical regions.

Objective: The aim of the present survey was to verify the occurrence of diffusion of leptospirosis infections in Eastern Sicily, in some groups (6 veterinarians, 34 farmers and 28 abattoir workers), who were considered at high occupational risk.

Methods: Serologic investigation were performed using the immunological method (Martin Petit test); the Leptospira serovars considered were: ictero-haemorrhagiae (Bianchi 1); canicola (Alarik); pomona (Mezzano 1); grippo-typhosa (Moskva V); bratislava (Riccio 2); sejroe (Topino 1); hardjo (Hardjoprajitno); saxkoebing (Mus 24).
