This review highlights operational principles, features, and modern aspects of the development of third-generation sequencing technology of biopolymers focusing on the nucleic acids analysis, namely the nanopore sequencing system. Basics of the method and technical solutions used for its realization are considered, from the first works showing the possibility of creation of these systems to the easy-to-handle procedure developed by Oxford Nanopore Technologies company. Moreover, this review focuses on applications, which were developed and realized using equipment developed by the Oxford Nanopore Technologies, including assembly of whole genomes, methagenomics, direct analysis of the presence of modified bases.

The article investigates the expression of and oxidative stress genes in under the effect of pristine multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) and pristine single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs), MWCNTs and SWCNTs functionalized with carboxyl groups (MWCNTs-COOH and SWCNTs-COOH, respectively), SWCNTs functionalized with amino groups (SWCNTs-NH) and SWCNTs functionalized with octadecylamine (SWCNTs-ODA). Significant differences were found in the expression of the gene, while no changes were observed in the expression level of the gene. The pro-oxidant effect of SWCNTs, SWCNTs-COOH, SWCNTs-NH, and SWCNTs-ODA is presented, and the contrary antioxidant effect of pristine MWCNTs and MWCNTs-COOH in the presence of methyl viologen hydrate (paraquat) is shown.

This article includes the data from current studies regarding the pathophysiological mechanisms of skin aging and the regenerative processes occurring in the epidermis and dermis at the molecular and cellular level, mainly, the key role of dermal fibroblasts in skin regeneration. Analyzing these data, the authors proposed the concept of skin anti-age therapy that is based on the correction of age-related skin changes by stimulating regenerative processes at the molecular and cellular level. The main target of the skin anti-age therapy is dermal fibroblasts (DFs).

Twelve genes for the potential serine-threonine protein kinases (STPKs) have been annotated in the genome of Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803.
