Unlabelled: Bevacizumab and atezolizumab combination is one of the preferred combinations for managing advanced hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), while the evidence on monotherapy with either agent is not convincing. We present a case of a man in his 50s diagnosed with HCC with spinal metastases who showed a good response to combination therapy. However, he developed severe proteinuria and hypertension secondary to bevacizumab, which had to be discontinued after 18 cycles.

Background And Aim: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a leading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide. Most patients are diagnosed at an advanced stage, limiting their treatment options. The traditional assessment of liver function using the Child-Pugh score has limitations due to its subjectivity.

We recently identified a tumor-cell autochthonous tumorigenic role for dimerization of the 4Ig isoform of B7-H3 (4Ig-B7-H3) [7], where 4Ig-B7-H3 dimerization activated tumor-intrinsic cellular proliferation and tumorigenesis pathways, providing a novel opportunity for therapeutic intervention. Herein, a live cell split-luciferase complementation strategy was used to visualize 4Ig-B7-H3 homodimerization in a high-throughput small molecule screen (HTS) to identify modulators of this protein-protein interaction (PPI).

Methods: Forty-one COMET procedures in 40 eyes and 69 ACLET procedures in 54 eyes were performed in the Corneoplastic Unit of Queen Victoria Hospital, East Grinstead. Data were examined for demographics, indications, ocular surface stability, absence of epithelial defect, ocular surface inflammation, visual outcomes, and intra- and postoperative complications.

Atherosclerosis (AS) is a growing global health epidemic and is the leading cause of cardiovascular health problems, including ischemic stroke, coronary artery disease, and peripheral vascular disease. Despite extensive research on the underlying mechanisms of AS, iron remains an under-investigated mediator in the atherosclerotic process. Iron's involvement in AS is primarily linked to the iron-induced programmed cell death process known as ferroptosis.
