Objectives: To compare the long-term skeletal effects of tooth-borne (TB) and tooth-bone-borne (TBB) rapid maxillary expansion in growing children, using 3D imaging.
Materials And Methods: In total, 52 consecutive patients who met the eligibility criteria were recruited and allocated to either the TB group, mean age 9.3 years (SD 1.
This study aims to generate and also validate an automatic detection algorithm for pharyngeal airway on CBCT data using an AI software (Diagnocat) which will procure a measurement method. The second aim is to validate the newly developed artificial intelligence system in comparison to commercially available software for 3D CBCT evaluation. A Convolutional Neural Network-based machine learning algorithm was used for the segmentation of the pharyngeal airways in OSA and non-OSA patients.

Background: Transanal endoscopic microsurgery (TEM) has become increasingly established as the method of choice for the local resection of endoscopically unresectable rectal adenomas and early-stage, low-risk rectal carcinomas. Multiple studies have shown that the single port-technique TEM results in significantly less trauma with comparable overall treatment outcome as compared to conventional radical surgical techniques. However, TEM is not widely used due to high initial set-up costs, the need for highly complex equipment and demanding surgical skill requirements.

Experiments on rabbits demonstrated phasic changes in the nervous system excitability in aseptic inflammation against the background of latent tetanus intoxication (according to the results of investigation of the neuro-muscular chronaxia and the entire electroexcitability curve ("power-duration"). Apparently this is of definite significance in the changes of interrelations between the reactivity and the resistance of the organism and in the action on the phlogogenic agent.
