High-grade Serous Carcinoma Occurring in a Serous Cystadenoma on the Background of a Serous Tubal Intraepithelial Carcinoma (STIC)-like Lesion: A Case Report With Literature Review.

At present, the prevailing concept is that high-grade serous carcinoma (HGSC) arises from the fallopian tubes (FTs). We report an HGSC case occurring in a serous ovarian cyst against the background of a serous tubal intraepithelial carcinoma (STIC)-like lesion. We also provide a literature review that contains references to clinical cases of the occurrence of STIC-like lesions in the ovary and phylogenetic studies that do not always reveal obvious bonds between early dysplastic serous lesions and HGSC.

α1-Adrenergic receptor regulates papillary muscle and aortic segment contractile function via modulation of store-operated Ca entry in long-tailed ground squirrels Urocitellus undulatus.

The effect of phenylephrine (PE) on right ventricle papillary muscle (PM) and aortic segment (AS) contractile activity was studied in long-tailed ground squirrels Urocitellus undulatus during summer activity, torpor and interbout active (IBA) periods in comparison to rat. We found that PE (10 μM) exerts positive inotropic effect on ground squirrel PM that was blocked by α1-AR inhibitor-prazosin. PE differently affected frequency dependence of PM contraction in ground squirrels and rats.

[Five-year outcomes of aorto-femoral vascular reconstructions in patients with multifocal atherosclerosis].

Aim: To analyze long-term results of surgical treatment of atherosclerotic occlusive-stenotic lesion of aorto-femoral segment within the single-center prospective register.

Material And Methods: The study included 275 patients who underwent aorto-femoral reconstructive interventions for the period 2011-2014. Inclusion criterion was indications for aorto-femoral surgery due to severe atherosclerotic lesions of the infrarenal aorta and/or ilio-femoral arteries.

[Simultaneous operation in a patient with stenosis of the extracranial portion and an intracranial aneurysm of the internal carotid artery].

Presented herein is a clinical case report concerning surgical treatment of a patient with a rare combination of two pathologies, i. e., a haemodynamically significant stenosis of the extracranial portion and a sacciform aneurysm of the communicative portion of the right internal carotid artery on the background of multifocal atherosclerosis.
