Military conflicts, terrorist attacks and wars around the world pose a wide range of questions to the medical community about providing medical care to military personnel and civilians with mine-explosive trauma, which is characterized by simultaneous damage of various anatomical areas, including the maxillofacial region. The purpose of this work was to describe a case from practice of treating a patient with a mine-explosive trauma, which manifested by a fracture of the right zygomatic-orbital complex and the upper jaw on the right. Using own case from practice, the authors showed that the treatment of patients with mine-explosive trauma of the maxillofacial region is long-term, multi-stage and should take place in a specialized hospital with the involvement of a team of multidisciplinary specialists.

Functional differences exist across specific vascular beds, but their molecular determinants across tissues remain largely unknown. In this study, we integrated single-cell transcriptomics data from 19 human organs and tissues and defined 42 vascular cell states from approximately 67,000 cells (62 donors), including angiotypic transitional signatures along the arterial endothelial axis from large to small caliber vessels.

The increasing age of patients receiving renal replacement therapy (RRT) in Turkey, coupled with a shortage of kidney donors, has led to longer waiting times for transplants and an escalation in mortality rates. This retrospective study aimed to assess the effect on transplant outcomes of accepting kidneys from donors ≥70 years of age, given the rising number of older patients in the population. In all, 1400 patients were transplanted with kidneys from donors >50 years, with patient and graft survival as primary endpoints.
