Objective: To examine the occurrence of 30-day mortality, and other procedure related morbidities in cohorts of patient receiving neuraxial anesthesia (NAX) or general anesthesia (GA) in the setting of transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP). Historically, NAX has been recommended for patients undergoing TURP permitting monitoring of consciousness and early diagnosis of absorption-related hyponatremia. We aim to analyze a broader comparison of mortality and other associated morbidities regarding the form of anesthesia utilized.

Ideal management of both renal oncocytoma and retroperitoneal schwannoma is surgical resection. We present a rare case of a 63-year-old man with multifocal renal oncocytoma and retroperitoneal ancient schwannoma which, preoperatively, masqueraded as metastatic renal cell carcinoma.

The study ultimately aims to gain more understanding of the pathological behaviour of prostate cancer and the limitations of the currently available diagnostic and prognostic tools.
Material And Methods: We reviewed the records of 100 patients with localized carcinoma of the prostate diagnosed by TRUS-guided prostate biopsy and treated with radical retropubic prostatectomy, comparing tumour laterality and Gleason score in core biopsies with tumour distribution and Gleason score of the surgical specimen.
Based on the American Urological Association best practice policy statement, the workup of microscopic hematuria is summarized in the above algorithm (Fig. 1). The presence of gross hematuria is always an indication for prompt full investigation.
