Effects of standardized mindfulness programs on burnout: a systematic review and original analysis from randomized controlled trials.

Unlabelled: According to the World Health Organization (WHO), burnout is a syndrome conceptualized as resulting from chronic occupational stress that has not been successfully managed. It is characterized by emotional exhaustion, cynicism toward work, and a lack of personal accomplishment at work. Recent WHO guidelines on mental health suggest that mindfulness could have beneficial effects in a professional environment, but to the best of our knowledge, there is currently no study that has made a large inventory of research focused specifically on the effects of standardized programs on burnout.

Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) is a muscle wasting disorder caused by mutations in the gene encoding dystrophin. Gene therapy using micro-dystrophin (MD) transgenes and recombinant adeno-associated virus (rAAV) vectors hold great promise. To overcome the limited packaging capacity of rAAV vectors, most MD do not include dystrophin carboxy-terminal (CT) domain.

Medical, neurobiological, and psychobehavioral perspectives of mastocytosis: a case report.

Background: Cutaneous mastocytosis is a rare pathology characterized by an abnormal proliferation and degranulation of mast cells, affecting the skin. Here we present the case of a patient suffering from chronic resistant mastocytosis. An original integrative method of evaluation was tested in this patient, to improve therapeutic management.

Dose-Dependent Microdystrophin Expression Enhancement in Cardiac Muscle by a Cardiac-Specific Regulatory Element.

Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) is an X-linked recessive disease that affects 1:5,000 live male births and is characterized by muscle wasting. By the age of 13 years, affected individuals are often wheelchair bound and suffer from respiratory and cardiac failure, which results in premature death. Although the administration of corticosteroids and ventilation can relieve the symptoms and extend the patients' lifespan, currently no cure exists for DMD.

Multiple pulmonary infantile hemangiomas responsive to oral propranolol.

Intrathoracic infantile hemangiomas (IHs) are extremely rare. They may be located in the pericardium, trachea, bronchia, diaphragm, mediastinum, or the lungs and may be associated with cutaneous IHs. We present a newborn with multiple pulmonary IHs in the absence of skin lesions that showed a dramatic response to oral propranolol.
