Experimental and analytical study on axial behaviour of square corrugated concrete filled single and double skin tube stub columns.

Concrete-filled double-skin steel tubular (CFDST) columns have become widely utilized in building construction and bridges, thanks to their exceptional structural capabilities. Therefore, this study investigates the axial compressive behavior of square CFDST columns. The study aims to explore the influence of external and internal plate shapes (flat or corrugated plates) and different widths of internal steel tubes on the axial compressive behavior.

Biological evaluation of newly synthesized quinoline-based compound PPQ-8 in acute and chronic toxoplasmosis: An experimental study.

Toxoplasma gondii is a widely distributed protozoan parasite, which affects worm-blooded animals including human. The commonest chemotherapeutics used for treatment of symptomatic toxoplasmosis have numerous adverse effects. Thus there is an eminent need to develop new therapeutic agents.

Comparative study between immunohistochemical grading and giardia genotyping among symptomatic and asymptomatic humans.

In the last years, multiple studies indicated the potential effectiveness of the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) for detection of Giardia in pathological specimens. By using the difference at the triose phosphate isomerase (tpi) gene locus, we investigated the genotype groups of Giardia lamblia isolated directly from fecal specimens collected from humans living in Dakahlia Governorate, Egypt. Immunohistochemical staining for detection of Giardia local antigenic and cellular immune-determinants focusing on CD4 and CD8 T-lymphocytes was also applied.

The histo-pathology of human giardiasis.

In giardiasis symptomatic group (I) the prevalence of diarrhoea was 5/7 (71.43%), 13/13 (100%) in Grade 0, I, II, III and IV pathology respectively which is statistically insignificant in comparison to each other (P > 0.05).

Evaluation of five stains in diagnosing human intestinal coccidiosis.

Three hundreds cases over the year 1998 complaining of diarrhoea were examined. The stools were examined by the traditional diagnostic methods and confirmed to be free from intestinal parasites. Cryptosporidium parvum, Isospora belli and Cyclospora cayetanensis were detected by using different types of faecal stains namely modified Ziehl-Neelsen, Kinyoun acid-fast, Auramine-rhodamine, Gomori's trichrome and Giemsa.
