Violence risk prediction in mental health inpatient settings using the Dynamic Appraisal of Situational Aggression.

Introduction/background: Aggression and violence are common problems in healthcare settings and affects both patients and healthcare staff. The Dynamic Appraisal of Situational Aggression (DASA) is an assessment tool to guide assessment for short term risk in inpatient settings. There have been no large-scale studies examining the performance of the DASA across different clinical settings.

Background Pulmonary function tests are central to diagnosis and monitoring of respiratory diseases but do not provide information on regional lung function heterogeneity. Fluorine 19 (F) MRI of inhaled perfluoropropane permits quantitative and spatially localized assessment of pulmonary ventilation properties without tracer gas hyperpolarization. Purpose To assess regional lung ventilation properties using F MRI of inhaled perfluoropropane in participants with asthma, participants with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and healthy participants, including quantitative evaluation of bronchodilator response in participants with respiratory disease.

Factors Influencing Practice Decisions Among Plastic Surgery Residents and Early-Career Plastic Surgeons in Canada.

Trends within the Canadian plastic surgery workforce demonstrated that most work in academic or medium-large community practice. Recent studies observed more plastic surgeons are incorporating aesthetics into their practice. This study aims to identify factors influencing how plastic surgery residents and early-career plastic surgeons in Canada choose their eventual practice with respect to practice type and practice location.
