This study evaluates the performance of ChatGPT variants, GPT-3.5 and GPT-4, both with and without prompt engineering, against solely student work and a mixed category containing both student and GPT-4 contributions in university-level physics coding assignments using the Python language. Comparing 50 student submissions to 50 AI-generated submissions across different categories, and marked blindly by three independent markers, we amassed data points.

Maximizing the performance of crystal monochromators is a key aspect in the design of beamline optics for diffraction-limited synchrotron sources. Temperature and deformation of cryo-cooled crystals, illuminated by high-power beams of X-rays, can be estimated with a purely analytical model. The analysis is based on the thermal properties of cryo-cooled silicon crystals and the cooling geometry.

Background: Porokeratosis is a group of disorders characterized by aberrant skin keratinization secondary to genetic alterations in the mevalonate pathway, which participates in cholesterol synthesis. While a rare disorder, malignant transformation to squamous cell carcinoma is seen in up to 11% of cases. Recently, topical cholesterol and topical statin therapy have been suggested as a pathogenesis-directed treatment for porokeratosis.

Breast cancer with skin involvement is an uncommon clinical presentation of this malignancy. Breast cancer overall has a relatively high mortality rate and wide variety of presentations, making skin involvement by breast cancer a necessary consideration in the differential diagnosis for many types of breast lesions. A retrospective review of our own small academic dermatology outpatient clinic, between August 2006 and January 2020, found four cases of noninflammatory breast cancer with skin involvement diagnosed through biopsy by our dermatologists.

Molecular profiling of childhood CNS tumors is critical for diagnosis and clinical management, yet tissue access is restricted due to the sensitive tumor location. We developed a targeted deep sequencing platform to detect tumor driver mutations, copy number variations, and heterogeneity in the liquid biome. Here, we present the sensitivity, specificity, and clinical relevance of our minimally invasive platform for tumor mutation profiling in children diagnosed with CNS cancer.
