Background: Mood influences smoking behavior, with sex and sex hormones potentially complicating these relationships. We explored associations between Profile of Mood States (POMS) and Questionnaire on Smoking Urges (QSU) - Brief with sex hormones in men and women who smoke.
Methods: This is a secondary analysis of treatment non-responders from a smoking cessation randomized trial investigating exogenous progesterone's efficacy.

There is evidence that emotion regulation plays a role in the aetiology and maintenance of OCD, but knowledge about what impacts emotion dysregulation is limited. Attachment style is related to both emotion regulation and OCD symptoms, but the link between them has not been thoroughly studied. Examining emotion dysregulation within the context of OCD through an attachment theory framework may lead to a better understanding of the aetiology and maintenance of OCD.

Two noncanonical rNTRs that are thought to be poly(A) polymerases (PAPs) have been identified in the mitochondria of trypanosomes - KPAP1 and KPAP2. KPAP1 is the primary polymerase that adds adenines (As) to trypanosome mitochondrial mRNA 3 tails, while KPAP2 is a non-essential putative polymerase whose role in the mitochondria is ambiguous.

These enzymes are capable of hydrolyzing urethane bonds in low molecular weight dicarbamates as well as in thermoplastic PU and the amide bond in polyamide employing a Ser-Ser -Lys triad for catalysis, similar to members of the amidase signature protein superfamily. Understanding the catalytic mechanism of these urethanases is crucial for enhancing their enzymatic activity and improving PU bio-recycling processes.

We investigated the prevalence in patients with kidney failure of undetermined aetiology and compared Danish families with ADTKD-.
Methods: We recruited patients with suspected kidney failure of undetermined aetiology at ≤50 years and excluded those with a clear-cut clinical or histopathological kidney diagnoses or established genetic kidney diseases identified thorough medical record review.
