FSHD1 Diagnosis in a Russian Population Using a qPCR-Based Approach.

Facioscapulohumeral dystrophy (FSHD) is an autosomal dominant myodystrophy. Approximately 95% of cases of FSHD are caused by partial deletion of the D4Z4 macrosatellite tandem repeats on chromosome 4q35. The existing FSHD1 diagnostic methods are laborious and not widely used.

In the paper there are presented the basic principles of the organization of activities for the assurance ofthe sanitary- epidemiological welfare in the period ofpreparation and hosting of the XXII Olympic Winter Games and XI Paralympic Winter Games of 2014 in the Resort City of Sochi. There are considered features of the organization ofepidemiological surveillance in the pre-Olympic period, the period of the games and the state of the morbidity rate in the region after the Olympics. There are presented data on certain directions of the work of organs and institutions of the Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Welfare on the disease control of the event.

[Molecular-genetic analysis of DNA pol and TK of HSV-1 population using NGS technology].

It was determined the ratio of viral DNA and DNA from Vero cells using the polymerase chain reaction in real time in Vero cell lysate, infected with L2 strain of the herpes simplex virus type 1. Copy number of the virus reached a maximum after 24 hours of incubation of infection. Total DNA was isolated and sequenced using NGS technology by Ion Torrent device.

Protein partners of KCTD proteins provide insights about their functional roles in cell differentiation and vertebrate development.

The KCTD family includes tetramerization (T1) domain containing proteins with diverse biological effects. We identified a novel member of the KCTD family, BTBD10. A comprehensive analysis of protein-protein interactions (PPIs) allowed us to put forth a number of testable hypotheses concerning the biological functions for individual KCTD proteins.

[Health consequences in overexposed persons after the Chernobyl accident: basic resume and unsolved problems].

Data of researches of consequences for health after the Chernobyl accident in 1986 are generalized. Consequences for health of these groups and principles of the further supervision over them are estimated. The increasing of leukemia among the reasons attracts attention.
