This article brings a philosophical perspective to bear on issues of research ethics governance as it is practiced and organized in Canada. Insofar as the processes and procedures that constitute research oversight are meant to ensure the ethical conduct of research, they are based on ideas or beliefs about what ethical research entails and about which processes will ensure the ethical conduct of research. These ideas and beliefs make up an epistemic infrastructure underlying Canada's system of research ethics governance, but, we argue, extensive efforts by community members to fill gaps in that system suggest that these ideas may be deficient.

Hashimoto thyroiditis (HT) is chronic lymphocytic thyroiditis. Cytokines and chemokines such as tumor necrosis factor-alpha, interferon-gamma, and interleukin-1 beta originating from immune cells are involved in the etiopathogenesis of HT. Congenital hemophilia B is a rare X-linked recessive bleeding disorder caused by factor IX deficiency. Acquired hemophilia A is a rare, acquired bleeding disorder that presents with new-onset bleeding, especially in older adults, due to the development of auto-antibodies against factor VIII (FVIII). This case report presents the medical management of a patient with congenital hemophilia B and acquired hemophilia A.

Contamination of the aquatic environment with different insecticides is a major concern in the aquatic ecosystem today. For this reason, in the designed study, Thiamethoxam (TMX) for which there is limited information on its negative effects on Oncorhynchus mykiss was investigated, its effects on hematotoxicity, oxidative status, cytotoxicity, DNA damage and apoptotic status indicators in blood/liver tissue. However, the antitoxic potential of ulexite (UX) supplementation in the elimination of TMX-mediated toxicity has been determined.
