Background: Nodes are the second site for prostate cancer recurrence. Whole-pelvic radiotherapy (WPRT) has shown superiority over nodal stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) in two retrospective cohorts. We aimed to compare both modalities and assess factors associated with treatment outcomes.

Article Synopsis
  • Abnormal levels of CDKN1A/p21 can lead to opposite effects in cells, either causing rapid growth in p53-deficient cancer cells or slowing growth in hematopoietic stem cells, potentially leading to bone marrow failure (BMF).
  • In Fanconi anemia (FA), p21 is overexpressed due to both p53 and the transcription factor microphthalmia (MITF), contributing to the disease's symptoms, but the exact mechanisms remain unclear.
  • The study finds that elevated p21 in FA cells is linked to chromatin changes and increased genetic instability, and that reactive oxygen species (ROS) are crucial for this overexpression, suggesting a complex interaction that worsens cell replication issues.

Background: Chemotherapy for metastatic pancreatic adenocarcinoma (PDAC) primarily relies on FOLFIRINOX (LV5FU- irinotecan - Oxaliplatine) and Gemcitabine - Nab-Paclitaxel in the first-line setting. However, second-lines remain less well-defined and there is limited data regarding third-line treatments. The objective of our study was to determine the proportion of patients advancing to third line chemotherapy, to outline the various third-line chemotherapy regimens used in routine practice and to evaluate their respective efficacy.

Purpose: Radiation-induced lung injury (RILI) is strongly associated with various clinical conditions and dosimetric parameters. Former studies have led to reducing radiotherapy (RT) doses to the lung and have favored the discontinuation of tamoxifen during RT. However, the monocentric design and variability of dosimetric parameters chosen have limited further improvement.
