Si-based anodes can increase specific energy and energy density of Li ion batteries. However, the volume-induced material stress and capacity loss necessitates only a partial Si utilization within composite anodes, typically with state-of-the-art graphite, so called Si/Gr composites. In this work, various Si nanowires (SiNWs), a promising Si architecture for these composites, are investigated and modified via pre-lithiation.

It is released upon stimulation by skeletal muscle cells through partially characterized mechanisms. In some cell types, IL-6 has been reported to activate a positive feedback loop involving endocytic vesicles, but evidence is mostly based on transcription and signal transduction mechanisms and is very scarce in muscle cells.

During pregnancy, controlling nutrition is crucial for the health of both mother and foetus. While polyphenols have positive health effects, some studies show harmful outcomes during pregnancy. This study evaluated polyphenol intake in a cohort of mother-child pairs and examined its effects on foetal anthropometric parameters.
