Thrombectomy in ischemic stroke patients with tandem occlusion in the posterior versus anterior circulation.

Background: Mechanical thrombectomy (MT) was found to be beneficial in acute ischemic stroke patients with anterior tandem occlusion (a-TO). Instead, little is known about the effectiveness of MT in stroke patients with posterior tandem occlusion (p-TO). We aimed to compare MT within 24 h from last known well time in ischemic stroke patients with p-TO versus a-TO.

Blueprint for a Semi-automated Image Processing Tool to Characterize Stent Features: Application to a Pediatric Growth-Adaptive Stent.

The goal of this work was to develop a general blueprint for a semi-automated image processing tool (SIPT) to measure small, complex features of stent prototypes that can replace the current gold standard of manual measurements. The stents were designed using CAD software and manufactured via laser cutting. Stent prototypes were imaged using a Keyence microscope in top and side view orientations.

Effective and organ doses in patient undergoing interventional neuroradiology procedures: A multicentre study.

Purpose: Radiation doses to adult patients submitted to cerebral angiography and intracranial aneurysms treatments were assessed by using DICOM Radiation Dose Structured Reports (RDSR) and Monte Carlo simulations. Conversion factors to estimate effective and organ doses from Kerma-Area Product (P) values were determined.

Methods: 77 cerebral procedures performed with five angiographic equipment installed in three Italian centres were analyzed.

Background: Cellobiose dehydrogenase (CDH) is an extracellular fungal oxidoreductase with multiple functions in plant biomass degradation. Its primary function as an auxiliary enzyme of lytic polysaccharide monooxygenase (LPMO) facilitates the efficient depolymerization of cellulose, hemicelluloses and other carbohydrate-based polymers. The synergistic action of CDH and LPMO that supports biomass-degrading hydrolases holds significant promise to harness renewable resources for the production of biofuels, chemicals, and modified materials in an environmentally sustainable manner.

Endovascular coils extrusion after internal carotid artery occlusion: From management to follow-up.

ICA coil extrusion (ICA-CE) occurs most frequently in the nasopharyngeal/sinonasal site. Evaluating the ICA coils stability, through an angiography, is of primary importance. ICA-CE management needs to be decided based on the patient's symptoms and general status.
