Purpose: Bevacizumab is the only therapeutic target approved for patients with persistent, recurrent or advanced cervical cancer from a phase III study that combined with chemotherapy; it proves a significant increase in overall survival. To retrospectively assess the efficacy and safety of bevacizumab as the first-line treatment in patients from usual clinical practice with recurrent/persistent or advanced cervical cancer.

Patients And Methods: Treatment consisted of cisplatin 50 mg/m or carboplatin AUC 5 plus paclitaxel 175 mg/m for 6-8 cycles and bevacizumab 15 mg/kg every 3 weeks up to progression or unacceptable toxicity.

Background: Predicting the ability of rams to detect, mate and fertilise ewes in oestrus accurately is certainly difficult; however, tests based on clinical examinations have been performed to assess the overall potential capacity of rams to serve and impregnate ewes. Clinical examinations for breeding soundness evaluation were carried out in 897 Rasa Aragonesa (RA) rams from 35 flocks in North-Eastern (NE) Spain. Clinical examinations of head, trunk, limbs and genitals were performed in each ram.

The development of the human umbilical cord blood transplants with hematopoietic repopulating cells has enabled some problems associated with bone marrow transplants to be solved. Frozen umbilical cord blood banks should facilitate the finding of suitable stem cell donors. However, further experience is necessary to develop the optimal method for collection, separation, storage and cryopreservation of umbilical cord blood.
