The concentration, character, and distribution of microplastics in coastal marine environments remain poorly understood, with most research focusing on the abundance of microplastics at the sea surface. To address this gap, we conducted one of the first comprehensive assessments of microplastic distribution through the marine water column and in the benthic sediment during the wet and dry season in the coastal waters of the San Pedro Shelf, Southern California, USA. Microplastic concentrations in the water column did not vary significantly across season but were significantly higher in nearshore environments and at the surface of the water column.

Atmospheric Deposition of Microplastics in South Central Appalachia in the United States.

Due to the increased prevalence of plastic pollution globally, atmospheric deposition of microplastics (MPs) is a significant issue that needs to be better understood to identify potential consequences for human health. This study is the first to quantify and characterize atmospheric MP deposition in the Eastern United States. Passive sampling was conducted at two locations within the Eastern United States, specifically in remote South Central Appalachia, from March to September 2023.

Introduction: The COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant and ongoing impact on health care, particularly for medical radiation science (MRS) professionals. There exist many studies that describe the negative effects of clinical placement restrictions and access to universities on the well-being of all health professional students during the pandemic. There also exists evidence of changes to MRS student teaching and impacts to students and academic clinical educators; however, there exists a paucity of research that investigates how changes have affected the performance of students within the clinical environment and entering the workforce.

In 2020, HOHM Foundation launched Homeopathy Help Now (HHN), a network of professional homeopathy telehealth practitioners, administrative volunteers, and independent researchers to work collaboratively in order to respond to the urgent need of care for the ever-growing number of COVID-19 cases in the United States. in this pragmatic case series study, cases of positively testing or probable COVID-19 (n = 3495) are analyzed using conventional quantitative analysis. The sample includes clinical data collected from clients who attended the clinic between 23 March 2020 and 31 December 2023.
