Neurohistologic and histochemical changes in the teeth and parodontium were studied in 36 dogs in the course of the preparation for mental-ceramic crowns. It was established that grinding of hard tissues produced reactive and degenerative changes in vessels and nerve elements of th teeth and peridental tissues, as well as in the content and distribution of the pulp RNA, glycogen and hyaluronic acid. The changes were maximum pronounced 1--3 days after the intervention.

The efficacy of conduction anesthesia with 2% solutions of novocain, celnovocain, trimecain, lidocain during the preparation of teeth for metal crowns was studied in experiments on 16 dogs by neurohistological and histochemical examination of the Gasserian and superior cervical ganglions, the nodose ganglion, teeth and pericoronal tissues. It was established that in terms of the degree of anesthesia efficacy increase, the test anesthetics can be arranged as follows: novocain, celnovocain, trimecain, lidocain.

Neurohistologic and histochemical study has been performed of the trigeminal and upper cervical sympathetic ganglia as well as of the nodose ganglion in 35 dogs whose 4 lower teeth were prepared for full metal crowns. It was established that in the polishing of dental hard tissue the ganglia on the prepared side show changes in some neurons, intraganglionic nerve fibers, synaptic endings, in the content and distribution of RNA, glycogen and hyaluronic acid. The maximal evidence of the reaction was noted 1--3 days after operation.
