We aimed to evaluate short-term effects of a web-based self-management support on objectively measured physical activity (PA) compared to usual care in people with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). We conducted a pragmatic randomised controlled trial including people with stable COPD within primary healthcare. Participants were randomised to intervention group, IG (access to the COPD Web, an interactive website to support self-management with focus on PA), or to control group, CG (usual care).

Article Synopsis
  • - The study explores the effects of different exercise training methods—high-intensity interval training (HIIT) and moderate-intensity continuous training (MICT)—on extra-pulmonary symptoms of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), as well as their impact on cognitive and muscle function compared to healthy controls.
  • - Conducted as a multi-center, randomized controlled trial, the research involves two phases: the first examines the immediate effects of a 12-week HIIT vs. MICT regimen, while the second phase tracks the long-term impact on cognitive decline and inflammation over 24 months.
  • - Key outcomes include improvements in cognitive function, cardiorespiratory fitness, and muscle strength, with additional assessments of neuroinflammation

Despite the prevalence of research on the consequences of collective turnover (TO), we lack an understanding of how, when, and why changes in the external environment influence collective turnover. The present study extends context emergent turnover and threat-rigidity theories to consider temporal changes in rates of collective turnover brought on by an external disruption. We also conduct variance decomposition to evaluate the relative influence of internal and external factors on collective turnover and examine how changes in the external environment impact relative influences.

Aims: Exposure to work-related sexual harassment may increase the risk for certain adverse behavioural and emotional outcomes but less is known about its association with somatic diseases such as cardiovascular disease (CVD) and type 2 diabetes. This study investigated the prospective association of work-related sexual harassment and risk of cardiometabolic diseases.

Methods And Results: This cohort study included 88 904 Swedish men and women in paid work who responded to questions on workplace sexual harassment in the Swedish Work Environment Survey (1995-2015) and were free from cardiometabolic diseases at baseline.
