The authors investigated a group of people (1093 persons) who did not take part in the epidemiological survey of the population carried out in Leningrad to determine dysproteinemia and ischemic heart disease (IHD) prevalence. It was found that in the "nonparticipating" group 73.4% of persons refused to undergo the examination.
