Web-based interventions in the clinical encounter in fertility care: a scoping review.

There has been a huge increase in the development of new e-health initiatives, including interventions supporting the interaction between patients and healthcare professionals - the clinical encounter. This interaction can influence clinical decision making during a patient's workup or treatment process. This scoping review was designed (i) to display the current landscape of web-based interventions to support the clinical encounter, and (ii) to critically appraise their composition.

Reproductive and obstetrical outcomes after treatment of retained products of conception: hysteroscopic removal vs ultrasound-guided electric vacuum aspiration, a prospective follow-up study.

Background: Traditionally, curettage has been the most widely performed surgical intervention for removing retained products of conception. However, hysteroscopic removal is increasingly performed as an alternative because of the potentially lower risk of intrauterine adhesions and higher rates of complete removal. Until recently, studies comparing curettage with hysteroscopic removal regarding reproductive and obstetrical outcomes were limited, and data conflicting.

The effectiveness of immediate versus delayed tubal flushing with oil-based contrast in women with unexplained infertility (H2Oil-timing study): study protocol of a randomized controlled trial.

Background: In women with unexplained infertility, tubal flushing with oil-based contrast during hysterosalpingography leads to significantly more live births as compared to tubal flushing with water-based contrast during hysterosalpingography. However, it is unknown whether incorporating tubal flushing with oil-based contrast in the initial fertility work-up results to a reduced time to conception leading to live birth when compared to delayed tubal flushing that is performed six months after the initial fertility work-up. We also aim to evaluate the effectiveness of tubal flushing with oil-based contrast during hysterosalpingography versus no tubal flushing in the first six months of the study.

The ADENO study: ADenomyosis and its Effect on Neonatal and Obstetric outcomes: a retrospective population-based study.

Background: Adenomyosis is a benign gynecologic condition arising from the uterine junctional zone. Recent studies suggest a relationship between adenomyosis and adverse obstetrical outcomes, but evidence remains conflicting. There is no large-scale study investigating obstetrical outcomes in women with adenomyosis using the gold standard of histopathologic diagnosis.
