Capillary malformation-arteriovenous malformation syndrome (CM-AVM) is a germline vascular dysplasia that is typically characterized by cutaneous capillary malformations and central nervous system arteriovenous malformations (AVM). We report an atypical presentation of CM-AVM2 featuring a giant coronary fistula. A 22-day-old male exhibited a cardiac murmur, leading to the discovery of a large fistula from the left circumflex coronary artery.

Case reports and case series have linked umbilical vein varices (UVVs) with adverse pregnancy outcomes. Newer case reports and series suggest better perinatal outcomes in cases with an isolated UVV. The purpose of this literature review is to determine if there is commonality in management, outcomes, and association in pregnancy with UVV and fetal aneuploidy, growth restriction, demise, thrombosis, and turbulent flow.

Purpose: To compare costs of intravascular ultrasound (IVUS)-guided transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt (TIPS) creation versus non-IVUS-guided TIPS creation, accounting for differences in procedure time and resource utilization.

Materials And Methods: This single-institution retrospective study estimated procedure time and resource utilization from 157 consecutive elective TIPS creation procedures, of which 91 were IVUS-guided and 66 were non-IVUS-guided. Differences in procedure costs were derived using time-driven activity-based costing.

Background: Dengue fever is an arboviral disease caused by the dengue virus (DENV). Its geographical distribution and health burden have been steadily increasing through tropical and subtropical climates in recent decades.

Methods: We developed a temperature- and precipitation-dependent mechanistic model for the global risk of dengue fever outbreaks using the basic reproduction number (R) as the metric of disease transmission risk.
