Cell collectives, like other motile entities, generate and use forces to move forward. Here, we ask whether environmental configurations alter this proportional force-speed relationship, since aligned extracellular matrix fibers are known to cause directed migration. We show that aligned fibers serve as active conduits for spatial propagation of cellular mechanotransduction through matrix exoskeleton, leading to efficient directed collective cell migration.

Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) tumors are deficient in glutamine, an amino acid that tumor cells and CAFs use to sustain their fitness. In PDAC, both cell types stimulate macropinocytosis as an adaptive response to glutamine depletion. CAFs play a critical role in sculpting the tumor microenvironment, yet how adaptations to metabolic stress impact the stromal architecture remains elusive.

A concise synthetic route to an epimer of the recently isolated biologically active cyclic tetrapeptide koshidacin B has been developed, which featured a late-stage functionalization of a macrocyclic scaffold through a cross metathesis reaction. The synthetic 9--koshidacin B showed marginal differences in spectroscopic behavior with that of the natural product but exhibited conformational preferences similar to those reported for analogous substrate chlamydocin. Moreover, it exhibited a useful level of selective inhibition of biologically relevant enzyme histone deacetylase 1 with an IC value of 0.

Measuring countermovement jump (CMJ) height accurately is essential for evaluating lower-body explosive power in athletes and other active populations. With technological advancements, various portable tools have been developed for this purpose, including force platforms, contact mats, and video-based software. This study aimed to (a) investigate the test-retest reliability of the KINVENT K-Deltas force platform for CMJ height measurement and (b) compare its accuracy with a contact mat (Chronojump, Spain) and a video-based software (My Jump app, version 3).
