Through a collaboration among Fairfax County Health Department (FCHD), Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS), Morehouse School of Medicine (MSM), George Mason University College of Public Health, federally qualified health centers, hospital systems, non-profits, and other agencies, this initiative targets underserved high school students as a way to increase diversity among community health professionals, build generational health, and provide participants with tools to enhance their post-secondary educational and career opportunities.

Fine needle aspiration cytology of a myxoid adrenocortical adenoma. A case report.

The myxoid variant of adrenocortical (AC) tumors is characterized by peculiar histologic features that differ from conventional ones. It shows a prominent myxoid stromal component and is composed of small cells with mild atypia arranged in cords, pseudoglandular structures and microcysts. Reflecting the rarity of this variant, very few cytologic descriptions are available.

Detecting the drivers of functional diversity in a local lichen flora: a case study on the extinct volcano of Roccamonfina (southern Italy).

Current strategies for conservation reportedly suffer from an inadequate awareness of the drivers affecting lichen diversity, pointing to the need to fully develop a functional approach to lichen ecology. This study is an attempt to detect the drivers affecting functional diversity in the lichen flora of a volcanic Mediterranean area. Data on epiphytic lichen distribution were correlated with information coming from a GIS analysis.
