Purpose: The aim is to train and validate a multivariable Normal Tissue Complication Probability (NTCP) model predicting acute skin reactions in patients with breast cancer receiving adjuvant Radiotherapy (RT).
Methods And Materials: We retrospectively reviewed 1570 single-institute patients with breast cancer treated with whole breast irradiation (40 Gy/15fr). The patients were divided into training (n = 878, treated with 3d-CRT, from 2009 to 2017) and validation cohorts (n = 692, treated from 2017 to 2021, including advanced RT techniques).
Objectives: Home-based hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HCT) is a novel approach that has the potential to improve outcomes, however, the impact of transplant location on the gut microbiome remains uncharacterized. We hypothesized that patients randomized to undergo home HCT would have higher gut taxonomic diversity and lower antimicrobial resistance (AMR) gene abundance compared to those undergoing standard hospital HCT.
Methods: We identified 28 patients enrolled in Phase II randomized trials of home (n=16) v.

The ability of the gastrointestinal tract to harvest and utilize energy from food is essential for successful weight restoration, but the functional capacity of the intestine after prolonged caloric restriction remains unknown. In a murine model of undernutrition, we investigated the direct interactions , a prevalent small intestinal pathogen, on indigenous microbiota and specifically on Lactobacillus strains known for their mucosal and growth homeostatic properties.
