Transition probabilities in 134Pr: a test for chirality in nuclear systems.

Exited states in 134Pr were populated in the fusion-evaporation reaction 119Sn(19F,4n)134Pr. Recoil distance Doppler-shift and Doppler-shift attenuation measurements using the Euroball spectrometer, in conjunction with the inner Bismuth Germanate ball and the Cologne plunger, were performed at beam energies of 87 MeV and 83 MeV, respectively. Reduced transition probabilities in 134Pr are compared to the predictions of the two quasiparticle + triaxial rotor and interacting boson fermion-fermion models.

Proton-neutron mixed-symmetry 3(+)(ms) state in 94Mo.

We identify a Jpi = 3(+)(ms) state in 94Mo. This identification is based on six M1 and E2 strengths and is the first identification of a 3(+)(ms) state from B(M1) and B(E2) values. The transition strengths were determined from the measurement of Doppler shifts, branching ratios, and E2/M1 mixing ratios, obtained from gammagamma directional correlations following the 91Zr(alpha,n) reaction and the beta(+) decay of (94)Tc(m).
