This study successfully synthesised and characterised composites combining chitosan (CH), carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC), and various flavonoids (Fla). This innovative approach demonstrates the potential for developing functional materials with antioxidant and food preservation properties. The composites CH-Fla-CMC (1-5) was characterised using advanced techniques such as FT-IR, UV-Vis, XRD, SEM, TEM, and TGA, providing robust data on their structural, morphological, and thermal properties.

Gas sensors play a vital role in detecting gases in the air, converting their concentrations into electrical signals for industrial, environmental, and safety applications. This study used density functional theory methods to explore the mechanism and sensitivity of a PdO-graphene composite sensor towards various gases (CO, NO, NO, HS, and Cl). All calculations, including structure, energy, and frequency optimizations, were performed using the Gaussian software with appropriate configurations and basis sets.

The present work focuses on a newly synthesized pyrazolo[3,4-]pyridine prepared by formal [3 + 3] cycloaddition using copper(II) acetylacetonate as the catalyst; efficient and effective mild reactions with high yields were obtained using this method. The synthesized compounds were identified by FT-IR, H and C NMR, and mass spectra (/) analyses. The compounds () were screened for several in vitro and in silico activities.

Lichen-associated endophytic Actinobacteria, particularly Streptomyces species, are recognized for their production of bioactive secondary metabolites with significant pharmaceutical potential. With the escalating prevalence of diseases, Streptomyces species are being investigated for its natural source of antimicrobial compounds for new antibiotics. This study focuses on the bioactive properties of secondary metabolites from lichen-associated endophytic Actinobacteria, focusing on Streptomyces glaucescens NTSB-37 isolated form lichen, Parmotrema perlatum (Huds.

In recent years, several physicochemical methods have been proposed for decolourising textile dyes; however, few have been adopted by the textile industry because of factors such as high cost, low efficiency, and limited applicability to a wide range of dyes. The current study focuses on synthesising algae-mediated Cu and CuO nanocatalysts (Alg-Cu and Alg-CuO) using natural waste materials from green algae. The synthesised Alg-CuO nanocatalyst was characterised and confirmed using SEM, TEM, UV, FT-IR, XRD, XPS, GC-MS, and TGA.
