Camptodactyly resulting from anatomical variation of lumbrical muscles: imaging findings.

We report three cases of camptodactyly in adolescent patients, presenting with a passive flexion deformity of the fifth finger. Ultrasound findings include aberrant lumbrical insertion and decreased lumbrical size, confirmed with magnetic resonance imaging, and aberrant dynamics. Surgery confirmed these findings in one patient.

Predisposing factors which are relevant for the clinical outcome after revision total knee arthroplasty.

Purpose: The objective of this study was to investigate the outcome of revision total knee arthroplasty (TKA) in relation to the cause of index failure, the characteristics of the index procedure, and the elapsed time between index TKA and revision.

Methods: A retrospective review based on a prospective database was performed on 146 consecutive revision TKA's. Variables tested were the cause of index failure; the elapsed time between the index and revision procedure; patient age at time of revision; partial or total revision of the implants; the performance of a tibial tubercle osteotomy; the presence of radiolucent lines; postoperative patellar tracking; and coronal plane alignment.

Soft tissue involvement, mediastinal pseudotumor, and venous thrombosis in pustulotic arthro-osteitis. A study of eight new cases.

A syndrome of hyperostosis of the thoracic wall, nonspecific signs of inflammatory disease, and palmar and plantar pustulosis is described in eight patients (Table 1). Seven had intersternocostoclavicular ossification, and one had chronic recurrent multifocal osteomyelitis. This complex of findings has been called "pustulotic arthro-osteitis".

Staging and follow-up of rheumatoid arthritis of the knee. Comparison of sonography, thermography, and clinical assessment.

Twenty patients with longstanding polyarticular rheumatoid arthritis (including knee involvement) were selected for this study. The severity of the knee synovitis was assessed before and during treatment (with intra-articular corticosteroid injections) using clinical scores, sonography, and thermography. In all patients, the inflammation regressed during treatment.
