Comprehensive characterization of MCL-1 in patients with colorectal cancer: Expression, molecular profiles, and outcomes.

Myeloid cell leukemia 1 (MCL-1) is a member of the B-cell lymphoma 2 protein family and has anti-apoptotic functions. Deregulation of MCL-1 has been reported in several cancers, including lung and breast cancer. In the present study, the association of MCL-1 expression with molecular features in colorectal cancer (CRC) has been highlighted.

Religion, spirituality, and DNA methylation in HPA-axis genes among Hispanic/Latino adults.

Aim: Investigate associations between religion and spirituality (R&S) and DNA methylation of four HPA-axis genes (i.e. 14 CpG sites) among 992 adults from the Hispanic Community Health Study/Study of Latinos cohorts.

Vitamin D deficiency and duration of COVID-19 symptoms in UK healthcare workers.

Objectives: Vitamin D has a role in the innate immunity against pathogens and is also involved in mechanisms for reducing inflammation. VD deficiency (VDD) may increase COVID-19 infection susceptibility, however research is limited on the association between VDD and COVID-19 symptom prevalence and duration. The study aimed to determine whether VDD is a risk factor for the presence and extended duration of COVID-19 symptoms.

International Dermatology Outcome Measures (IDEOM): A Report From the 2023 Annual Meeting.

Background: International Dermatology Outcome Measures (IDEOM) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to improve the availability of evidence-based, consensus-driven outcome measures for dermatological diseases. IDEOM facilitates collaboration between stakeholders from various backgrounds, including researchers, patients, physicians, and industry representatives, to develop objective benchmark metrics that enable better treatment and management of dermatologic conditions.

Summary: The 2023 IDEOM Annual Meeting was held June 23-24, 2023.

Obstetric Life Support Education for Maternal Cardiac Arrest: A Randomized Clinical Trial.

Importance: Management of maternal cardiac arrest (MCA) requires understanding the unique physiology of pregnancy and modifications to life support. Health care professionals have historically demonstrated inadequate knowledge and skills necessary to treat MCA.

Objective: To evaluate the effect of Obstetric Life Support (OBLS) education on health care professionals' cognitive performance, skills, and self-efficacy in managing MCA.
