Kinetics of Austenite Decomposition in 54SiCr6 Steel during Continuous Slow Cooling Conditions.

In this study, dilatometry and metallography were used to investigate the effect of silicon and copper alloying on the decomposition kinetics of 54SiCr6 steel during continuous slow cooling. It is different from the published literature for using the approach of the local activation energy of the austenite decomposition and the local Avrami exponent of the volume fraction of the transformed phase to study the kinetics of austenite-pearlitic transformation in cooled 54SiCr steel at slow cooling rates. The Johnson-Mehl-Avrami equation was used to determine the dependence of the local activation energy for austenite decomposition and the local Avrami exponent on the volume fraction of the transformed phase .

Quantification of nitrogen and phosphorus inputs from farming activities into the water bodies in the Leningrad and Kaliningrad regions.

Agricultural intensification leads to higher diffuse environmental pollution. Successful pollution control requires the continuous monitoring of farming activities, reliable baseline data, and tested computational models for the quantitative assessment of diffuse loads. The study aimed to quantify the diffuse inputs of manure nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P) to the marine environment from large livestock farms and to identify the lowering effect of the best available techniques of manure/organic fertiliser handling.

Pig Manure Management: A Methodology for Environmentally Friendly Decision-Making.

The current trend towards larger pig farms increases their profitability but might harm animal welfare and the environment. More efficient pig manure management is a way to address this challenge. Available manure handling and utilisation systems may feature from 8 to 50% nutrient loss to the environment.

Environmental assessment of livestock farms in the context of BAT system introduction in Russia.

The article focuses on the environmental and economic assessment of animal/poultry manure utilisation technologies as the sources of the greatest negative impact on environment from agriculture. This procedure is especially topical in the context of current transition to BAT system in Russia. Russian BAT reference books on intensive rearing of pigs and intensive rearing of poultry came into force on June 1, 2018.

The experience of the organization and functioning of the laboratory network during the XXII Olympic Winter Games and XI Paralympic Winter Games of 2014 in Sochi is considered. Efforts to establish an effective system of laboratory support, the order of work and interaction of diagnostic laboratories involved in diseases control of population during the Olympic Games are analyzed.
