A comprehensive study of the angular distributions in the bottom-baryon decays Λ_{b}^{0}→Λ_{c}^{+}h^{-}(h=π,K), followed by Λ_{c}^{+}→Λh^{+} with Λ→pπ^{-} or Λ_{c}^{+}→pK_{S}^{0} decays, is performed using a data sample of proton-proton collisions corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9  fb^{-1} collected by the LHCb experiment at center-of-mass energies of 7, 8, and 13 TeV. The decay parameters and the associated charge-parity (CP) asymmetries are measured, with no significant CP violation observed. For the first time, the Λ_{b}^{0}→Λ_{c}^{+}h^{-} decay parameters are measured.

Article Synopsis
  • The study investigates CP symmetry violation in the decay of D^{+} particles into K^{-}K^{+}π^{+} using data from proton-proton collisions at a high energy of 13 TeV.
  • A unique model-independent method was employed to analyze the phase-space distributions of D^{+} and D^{-} particles, correcting for any instrumental biases using D_{s}^{+} decays.
  • The findings indicate no significant evidence of CP violation, with a p value of 8.1%, and measure specific CP asymmetry observables, marking this study as the most sensitive search of its kind in multibody decays.

Article Synopsis
  • tRNA-derived fragments (tRFs) serve both as biomarkers and signaling molecules in various disorders, with their expression patterns differing among blood cell types and changing with physiological conditions, such as during COVID-19.
  • The research compared tRF expression in different blood cells (erythrocytes, monocytes, lymphocytes, etc.) from both healthy donors and severe COVID-19 patients using fluorescence sorting and next-generation sequencing.
  • The study found significant changes in tRF patterns in multiple cell types during severe COVID-19, indicating that distinct blood cells respond differently to cytokine storms, which may involve regulation through nucleotide modifications and RNA enzyme activity alterations.

Article Synopsis
  • A study was conducted on B^{+} decays to explore resonant structures using data from the LHCb experiment at various energy levels, totaling an integrated luminosity of 9 fb^{-1}.
  • The researchers performed a simultaneous amplitude fit on two decay channels, determining the C parities of resonances in the D^{*±}D^{∓} mass spectra.
  • Four new charmonium or charmoniumlike states were discovered, including η_{c}(3945) and h_{c}(4000), and the presence of T_{c[over ¯]s[over ¯]0}^{*}(2870)^{0} and T_{c[over ¯]s

Article Synopsis
  • Wrist inflammation in juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) is linked to a more severe disease progression and increased treatment challenges, particularly in patients requiring biologic therapies.
  • The study analyzed data from 753 JIA patients, revealing that wrist involvement is common in various JIA types and is associated with more systemic inflammation markers and complications, especially in females.
  • Patients with wrist arthritis had a lower likelihood of achieving remission and a higher chance of needing biologics, highlighting the importance of early and intensive treatment strategies.
