The Stern-Gerlach experiment, a seminal quantum physics experiment, demonstrated the intriguing phenomenon of particle spin quantization, leading to applications in matter-wave interferometry and weak-value measurements. Over the years, several optical experiments have exhibited similar behavior to the Stern-Gerlach experiment, revealing splitting in both spatial and angular domains. Here we show, theoretically and experimentally, that the Stern-Gerlach effect can be extended into the time and frequency domains.

A major predictor of the outcomes of this procedure is adherence to post-surgery lifestyle changes and medical recommendations. While adolescents generally have more difficulty adhering to medical advice than adults, their failure to do so could adversely affect their physical and psychological health, the cost-effectiveness of medical care, and the results of clinical trials.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFBackground: Dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) caused by Lamin A/C gene (LMNA) mutation is complicated with atrioventricular conduction disturbances, malignant ventricular arrhythmias and progressive severe heart failure.
Objective: We hypothesized that early cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) implantation in LMNA mutation carriers with an established indication for pacemaker or implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD), may preserve ejection fraction, and delay disease progression to end stage heart failure.
Methods: We compared the primary outcomes: time to heart transplantation, death due to end stage heart failure or ventricular tachycardia (VT) ablation and secondary outcomes: change in left ventricular ejection fraction (EF) and ventricular arrhythmia burden between LMNA DCM patients in the early CRT and non-CRT groups.
