Predictive Value of ACEF I and II Scores for Postoperative Atrial Fibrillation in Isolated On-Pump Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting Surgery: A Multicenter Retrospective Study.

Objectives: This study evaluated the predictive performance of age, creatinine, and ejection fraction (ACEF) I and II scores for the development of postoperative atrial fibrillation (PoAF) after isolated on-pump coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) surgery and compared them with a novel nomogram model developed for PoAF prediction.

Subjects And Methods: This retrospective multicenter study involved 511 patients who underwent isolated on-pump CABG. Their ACEF scores were calculated, and multivariate logistic regression analysis was performed to develop a nomogram model.

Adult-type ALCAPA: missed at preoperative evaluation.

Unlabelled: The Bland-White-Garland syndrome, or Anomalous Origin of the Left Coronary Artery from the Pulmonary Artery (ALCAPA) syndrome, is a rare congenital cardiac anomaly often associated with high mortality, if left untreated. We present a case of a 43-year-old female with undiagnosed ALCAPA who initially underwent mitral valve surgery for severe mitral regurgitation, only to require reoperation due to adult-type ALCAPA. Intraoperatively, the discovery of dilated right coronary artery and its branches and absence of the left coronary ostium prompted further investigation, leading to the diagnosis of adult-type ALCAPA.

Real-World Outcomes in Patients with Advanced Penile Squamous Cell Carcinoma Receiving Immune Checkpoint Inhibitors: A Single Institution Experience.

Introduction: Advanced penile squamous cell carcinoma (pSCC) is a rare and aggressive malignancy with a poor prognosis and an unmet need for biomarkers. We performed a retrospective evaluation of real-world efficacy, safety outcomes, and baseline inflammatory biomarkers in patients with advanced pSCC treated with immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs).

Methods: We performed a retrospective review of patients with advanced pSCC who received ICIs from 2012 to 2023 at the Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University in Atlanta, GA.

In the current research mushroom/bentonite clay (RDBNC) as a low-cost bionanosorbent was investigated for adsorption of methylene blue (MB) and malachite green (MG) dye from contaminated water. The bionanosorbent was characterized by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), Scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), Thermal Gravimetric Analysis (TGA), and Zeta-potential techniques. Impact of preoperative stenting in management of bilateral ureteral stones.

Objective: This study aims to evaluate the impact of preoperative stenting on surgical outcomes and complications in patients with bilateral ureteric stones, specifically assessing its role in reducing the need for subsequent interventions.

Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted at a tertiary center over eight years, involving 82 patients with bilateral ureteric stones. Patients were divided into two groups: Group 1 (no preoperative stenting) and Group 2 (preoperative stenting).
