Abscess Formation After Tooth Extraction: A Long-Term Complication of Polyacrylamide Hydrogel Filler.

A 35-year-old woman with a history of polyacrylamide hydrogel filler injection was referred with a fluctuating facial abscess after decayed tooth extraction. MRI imaging confirmed the diagnosis of an abscess. After appropriate treatment, the patient healed with a little hyperpigmentation and deformity in the zygomaticotemporal area.

The effect of fucoidin on kidney and lung injury in a rat infrarenal aortic ischemia-reperfusion model.

Background: The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of fucoidin on rat kidney and lung in an infraaortic ishemia reperfusion model.

Methods: Forty Wistar rats were randomly divided into five groups ( = 8) as sham, control (IR), before ischemia (BI), before reperfusion (BR), and before ischemia and before reperfusion (BI/BR). Rats were subjected to 120 minutes ischemia followed by 120 minutes reperfusion with application of infrarenal aortic clamping.

Bone Marrow Mesenchymal Stem Cell Transplantation Enhances Nerve Regeneration in a Rat Model of Hindlimb Replantation.

Background: Successful limb replantation must be based not only on the viability of the amputated part but also on satisfactory long-term functional recovery. Once the vascular, skeletal, and soft-tissue problems have been taken care of, nerve recovery becomes the ultimate limiting factor. Unfortunately, nerve regeneration after limb replantation is impaired by several consequences.

Trauma exposure and post-traumatic stress disorder in people with intellectual disabilities: A Delphi expert rating.

Background: There is a lack of research on trauma in people with intellectual disabilities. This study assessed expert consensus on the traumatic potential of a broader range of adverse life events, and differences in symptom manifestation and behavioural symptom equivalents of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) symptoms.

Method: The present authors conducted a three-step Delphi survey using a mixed-methods design.

Assessment of job satisfaction in people with intellectual disabilities: Towards best-practice recommendations.

Background: The current body of research on job satisfaction of people with intellectual disability is based on highly diverse measures, originating both from the general population and people with intellectual disability. This heterogeneity represents a possible confounder. Best-practice approaches for the assessment of job satisfaction are hence needed.
