Background: Abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) screening/surveillance is implemented widely. Those in AAA-surveillance are at high-risk of cardiovascular-events. We developed an intervention, called CRISP, using intervention-mapping, to reduce cardiovascular-risk in AAA-surveillance.

Anthracyclines are widely used in paediatric oncology, but their use is limited by the risk of cumulative cardiac toxicity. Encapsulating anthracyclines in liposomes may reduce cardiac toxicity and possibly increase drug availability to tumours. A phase I study in paediatric patients was designed to establish the dose limiting toxicity (DLT) and maximum tolerated dose (MTD) after a single course of liposomal daunorubicin, 'DaunoXome', as a 1 h infusion on day 1 of a 21 day cycle.

Purpose: Dactinomycin (actinomycin D) is an antitumor antibiotic used routinely to treat certain pediatric and adult cancers. Despite concerns over the incidence of toxicity, little is known about the pharmacology of dactinomycin. A study was done to investigate dactinomycin pharmacokinetics in children.

We reviewed the results of two consecutive United Kingdom Childrens' Cancer Study Group (UKCCSG) studies of children with stage IV Hodgkin's Disease (HD) treated between January 1982 and December 1999. Among 697 children with HD, 67 were diagnosed to be stage IV. The median age at diagnosis was 12.

Isolated parenchymal lung involvement in children with stage IV Hodgkin's disease: results of the UKCCSG HD8201 and HD9201 studies.

We retrospectively reviewed the case notes of 27 patients who were diagnosed with stage IV Hodgkin's disease (HD) because of isolated parenchymal pulmonary involvement on chest radiograph and computerized tomography scan (excluding subcategory E). Ten were boys and 15 had B symptoms. Median age at diagnosis was 13.
