A luminescent zero-dimensional organic-inorganic hybrid indium halide (TUH)[InSbBr]Br (TU = thiourea, 0 ≤ ≤ 0.0998) was synthesized via the solvothermal method. In structures, resolved by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, isolated distorted [InBr] and [SbBr] octahedra are linked to organic TUH cations by intermolecular N-H···Br and N-H···S hydrogen bonds.

Article Synopsis
  • There is a lack of discharge protocols for acute pancreatitis (AP) patients, which the Hungarian Pancreatic Study Group (HPSG) aims to address with a new, validated protocol based on laboratory data and symptoms.
  • An international survey revealed that 87.5% of participating medical centers do not have discharge protocols, but those that do see shorter hospital stays and lower readmission rates.
  • The HPSG discharge protocol resulted in the lowest average length of hospital stay and demonstrated safety through a low readmission rate, highlighting the need for developing and validating more standardized discharge protocols for AP care.

Objective: To date, conflicting evidence has been reported regarding the energy settings to use during endovenous laser ablation (EVLA). In the present study, we evaluated the outcomes of EVLA of the great saphenous veins (GSVs) using different power settings with the same linear endovenous energy density (LEED) of ∼70 J/cm.

Methods: We performed a single-center, randomized, controlled noninferiority trial with a blinded outcome assessment of patients with varicose veins of the GSV who underwent EVLA with a wavelength of 1470 nm and a radial fiber.

We describe a method for experimental assessment of endothelial dysfunction in an isolated using extracorporeal machine perfusion and vasoactive substrates agents (norepinephrine and acetylcholine). Quantitative assessment of endothelial vasomotor dysfunction was proposed, based on registration of changes in volumetric perfusate flow rate through the isolated vessel. Functional activity of the isolated aorta endothelium and total content of stable NO degradation products in blood plasma were studied in outbred white male rats after subtotal liver resection.
