Self-Compassion Across Anxiety and Mood Disorders: Implications for Treatment.

Purpose Of Review: This review summarizes recent studies examining average self-compassion scores in adults with symptoms of anxiety and mood disorders. We compare these findings with our own data to help establish norms for the Self-Compassion Scale (SCS) and to explore treatment implications for patients with these disorders.

Recent Findings: Several studies have demonstrated that adults with symptoms of anxiety and mood disorders have lower self-compassion scores compared to control groups, though many of these studies have established findings based on self-reported symptoms.

Associative brain computer interface training increases wrist extensor corticospinal excitability in subacute stroke patients.

In a recently developed associative rehabilitative brain computer interface system, electroencephalography is used to identify the most active phase of the motor cortex during attempted movement and deliver precisely timed peripheral stimulation during training. This approach has been demonstrated to facilitate corticospinal excitability and functional recovery in patients with lower limb weakness following stroke. The current study expands those findings by investigating changes in corticospinal excitability following the associative BCI intervention in post-stroke patients with upper limb weakness.

How could 20-minute neighbourhoods impact health and health inequalities? A policy scoping review.

Background: 'Twenty-minute neighbourhoods' (or variations, such as 15-minute cities) are receiving increasing policy attention with anticipated impacts on population health (inequalities) outcomes alongside sustainability improvements. Yet, factors contributing to possible health impacts are not well understood. This scoping review aimed to identify proposed and evidenced pathways to health (inequality) outcomes from international policy plans.

Systematic review of evidence for the impact and effectiveness of the 1-3-7 strategy for malaria elimination.

Background: The 1-3-7 approach to eliminate malaria was first implemented in China in 2012. It has since been expanded to multiple countries, but no systematic review has examined the evidence for its use. A systematic review was conducted aiming to evaluate the impact and effectiveness of the strategy and identify key challenges and variations in its implementation across different countries.

Recent trends and biases in mesophotic ecosystem research.

Mesophotic ecosystems (approx. 30-150 m) represent a significant proportion of the world's oceans yet have long remained understudied due to challenges in accessing these deeper depths. Owing to advances in underwater technologies and a growing scientific and management interest, there has been a major expansion in research of both (sub)tropical mesophotic coral ecosystems and temperate mesophotic ecosystems.
