[The correlations between changes in coronary vascular tonus and eicosanoid formation during an immune action on the heart].

Activation of the lipoxygenase way of the arachidone acid metabolism was shown to play a major role in development of pathological processes in the heart. The data on interrelationship between the formation of eucosanoids and the character of the heart immune response to inhibition of lipoxygenase, were obtained. A correlation was found between the increase in the LTS4 in the blood and the development of prolonged constrictor responses of the coronary vessels.

[The effect of leukotriene LTC4 on the coronary vascular bed and on myocardial contractile function].

The effects of intracoronary LTC4 administration have been studied in narcotized dogs with an intact chest. LTC4 in doses of 0.5-40 micrograms produced a dose-dependent decrease in coronary flow, inhibition of myocardial contractility and disturbance of cardiac rhythm.

[High performance liquid chromatography of leukotriene C4 on the aminopropyl sorbent].

Chromatographic behaviour of leukotriene C4, its methyl ester and hydrophobic side products of their synthesis on an aminopropyl sorbent has been investigated, the retention time values being determined by both hydrophobic and ionic interaction of the substances with the sorbent. Optimal conditions of the separation are determined.

[Reverse phase high performance liquid chromatography in the synthesis of leukotrienes A4 and C4].

The chromatographic (RP HPLC) behaviour of leukotriene C4, its methyl ester, leukotriene A4 methyl ester and some chemicals involved in their synthesis have been investigated. Optimal conditions of separation were determined for the gradient and isocratic HPLC. Parameters of the interaction of the substances with hydrophobic surface are discussed in terms of solvophobic theory.
