Changes in lighting accompany modern urbanization trends and can lead to various pathologies based on circadian disturbances. In this study, we assessed the changes in the circadian rhythm of core body temperature (Tcore) and locomotor activity of Wistar-Kyoto rats (WKY) and spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHR) following exposure to different lighting conditions: extended light phase of the day (16 h-8 h, 20 h-4 h, 24 h-0 h), light pollution, monochromatic light, and bright light therapy. The telemetry data was collected after experimental lighting conditions during periods with standard lighting (12 h of light and 12 h of darkness) and was processed using linear and cosinor analysis.

The influence of heat shock proteins (HSPs) on protein quality control systems in cardiomyocytes is currently under investigation. The effect of HSPs on the regulated cell death of cardiomyocytes (CMCs) is of great importance, since they play a major role in the implementation of compensatory and adaptive mechanisms in the event of cardiac damage. HSPs mediate a number of mechanisms that activate the apoptotic cascade, playing both pro‑ and anti‑apoptotic roles depending on their location in the cell.

Loss of cardiomyocytes due to apoptotic or necrotic death is an important component of the pathogenesis of heart failure. Initiation of apoptosis by the mitochondrial pathway depends on the balance between proapoptotic and antiapoptotic factors, in particular, Bax and Bcl-2. Cardiomyocyte apoptosis in essential hypertension is studied in sufficient details.

Immunoliposomal container system for targeted delivery of minor interfering RNA into Schwann cells was developed. Monoclonal antibodies to myelin basic protein served as the vector. Analysis by sandwich ELISA of myelin basic protein showed specific suppression of the target protein gene expression in Schwann cells after incubation with PEG-conjugated immunoliposomes loaded with minor interfering RNA blocking the synthesis of myelin basic protein.

A novel immunoliposome delivery system was developed for directed transport into cultured olfactory epithelium cells. Monoclonal antibodies against glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) served as a vector. Fluorescence microscopy showed that the target cells are specifically stained with Dil dye incorporated into liposomal membranes.
