The collaborative, student-led research team was concerned with race and ethnic diversity in outdoor recreation and explored this issue by interviewing outdoor instructors. Video action research and pedagogy was used based on characteristics of critical thinking, research, reflection, and social justice. The result indicate the disparity of outdoor recreation participation and factors contributing to it.

Aim: To assess efficacy of a potassium channel blocker nibentan for pharmacological cardioversion of persistent atrial fibrillation. Method. Nibentan (1% solution) was infused intravenously after 3 weeks of warfarin pretreatment to 31 patients with duration of atrial fibrillation from 4 weeks to 15 months.

After reviewing intensive and life supportive care for patients in whom it was probably inappropriate, the hospital bioethics committee established a futile care policy. The issues we encountered in the first 3 years since the policy became effective should be instructive for other hospitals, physicians, and families.

Duplicate plasma specimens from 24 persons were sent to a community hospital, a commercial laboratory, and a university lipid research laboratory at two separate times to assess the intralaboratory and interlaboratory variations of total and high-density cholesterol measurements. For all three laboratories, the 95% confidence limits for the reproducibility of total cholesterol levels are about +/- 5.5%.
