Background: and purpose Individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) experience difficulty with communication, learning, behaviour, and social interactions. Animal-assisted therapy (AAT) is a growing alternative and complementary therapy for ASD. This review aims to investigate the effectiveness of AAT for children and adolescents with ASD in the domains of cognitive, social, emotional, behavioural, and physical.

Here we longitudinally analyze SARS-CoV-2 sequences in a B cell-depleted, lymphoma patient with chronic, ultimately fatal infection, and identify three mutations in the spike protein that dampen convalescent plasma-mediated neutralization of SARS-CoV-2. Additionally, four mutations emerge in non-spike regions encoding three CD8 T cell epitopes, including one nucleoprotein epitope affected by two mutations.

This study assessed immune responses in Mycobacterium tuberculosis-infected lymph node tissues from HIV-negative and HIV-positive patients compared with the peripheral circulation with a focus on myeloid cells and the cell-signaling enzymes, inducible nitric oxide synthase, and arginase (Arg)-1. Methods included immunohistochemistry or confocal microscopy and computerized image analyses, quantitative real-time PCR, multiplex Luminex, and flow cytometry.

Efficient sequencing strategies enable the retrieval of increasing numbers of high-quality, full-length genomes and are, hence, indispensable. Two opposed enrichment methods, tiling multiplex PCR and sequence hybridization by bait capture, have been established for SARS-CoV-2 sequencing and are both frequently used, depending on the quality of the patient sample and the question at hand.
